The TSA is delighted to confirm the launch of the TSA Clinical Trial Recruitment Portal, giving you an easy way to share your interest in joining future TSC clinical trials
Clinical trials are research studies where potential medicines or therapies are tested for their effectiveness. We know that lots of people in the TSC community would love to be involved in TSC clinical trials, as they are one of the main ways that the next big discoveries in TSC will be made. However, it’s typically difficult to find out about clinical trials or to know how to share your interest in being involved, despite the huge importance of having people join trials.
From today, the difficulty in finding out or volunteering for clinical trial studies focused on Tuberous Sclerosis Complex has been made much easier. If you or someone you care for has TSC you can join the TSA Clinical Trial Recruitment Portal to hear about clinical trial opportunities that might be relevant or of interest to you. Registration is free, and you only need to complete the form once. Joining the portal does not commit you to taking part in any study, it just confirms your interest. By registering, you’ll hear about clinical trial opportunities that may match the information you provide. You’ll also help clinical trial teams better understand the TSC community and plan more accessible trials.

How it works
- Complete the registration form. Tell us about you, or the person with TSC you care for, and the areas of clinical trials you would like to hear about
- Confirm your choices. Review the consent information and choose how the TSA may use your details and contact you
- Hear from us when there may be a match. If a suitable opportunity arises, the TSA may contact you with more information. You can then decide whether you would like to explore it further
Your information will be stored securely and handled in line with applicable data protection requirements. The TSA will use the details you provide to help identify clinical trial opportunities that may be relevant and to contact you according to your preferences. Registering does not guarantee that a suitable trial will be available, and your details will not be shared outside the agreed process without an appropriate lawful basis and the permissions described in the registration form.
