We’d like to wish our Great North Run #TeamTSA members the very best of luck as they do their final preparations for this Sunday’s event. Our Fundraising Officer Kathryn Harrison will be at our #TeamTSA cheering point located at Mile 12.5 with goody bags for all our runners. Anyone who would like to join her on the day to support will be very welcome – look out for our big TSA banner.

Our runners are Glyn Daykin and Nicola Daykin from Nottingham. Their son, Cole, has TSC and they have already taken on a series of TSA 40th anniversary events, including our #TSAHopeWalk, our forthcoming fire walk and the GNR to complete 40 miles for TSA 40th Anniversary. Their fundraising page is https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/glyn-nicola-daykin

Husband and wife team Craig and Angela Larkin are from Newcastle and their three children, Rhyan, Shawn and Niamh, all have TSC, as well as Angela and her sister. And, sadly, Angela’s mum, passed away last year due to kidney failure caused by growths on her kidneys. Their fundraising page is https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/angelacraig-larkin

Twins Matt and Alex Stirk – are running because their sister, Lucy, was diagnosed with TSC as a child. They secured their own places in the #GreatNorthRun and their fundraising page is https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/twingnr

Gareth Firth – Gareth says on his Just Giving page: ‘Over the past 7 months I have taken up running to try and tackle my ever-expanding waist line. During this period 4 of my close friends have been affected by Tuberous Sclerosis Complex. Their daughters – Evie, aged 4 and Matilda, 5 months – have been diagnosed with the condition.’ Gareth’s fundraising page is https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/gareth-firth1

And finally Sarah Dawn Chapman who is running on behalf of her friend’s 3 year-old daughter Violet Parkhill, who has TSC. Sarah describes Violet as ‘Such as happy smiling little girl and she has the most amazing family.’  Sarah’s fundraising page is at https://www.gofundme.com/sarah-violet-the-great-north-run

We hope all our #GNR2017 #TeamTSA members have a great day and we thank them all for everything they are doing for the TS community.
