How your donations help

How donations to the Tuberous Sclerosis Association are used to improve the lives of people affected by Tuberous Sclerosis Complex

Every penny kindly donated to the Tuberous Sclerosis Association (TSA) is made to work as hard as possible to the benefit of the Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC) community.

We receive no government funding. Our fight to help people affected by TSC is one funded only through our incredible donors and supporters.

We support the TSC community through a number of ways, possible only through the kind donations that we receive:

  • Support for the community: We support individuals and families affected by TSC, through our dedicated support team, up-to date information and annual flagship events
  • Research: We fund world-class research into the causes, management and treatment of TSC
  • Campaigns: We work to influence NHS policy to ensure that people affected by TSC get the care that they deserve
  • Support for professionals: We expand the knowledge and expertise of health, social care and education professionals that help people affected with TSC

The impact that your donation could have

£10 Means that we can send a support pack to a family who has just received a life-changing TSC diagnosis, ensuring that they do not go through this time alone

£25 Can help us develop materials that are either included in our support services, flagship events or campaigns for better access to treatments and therapies

£50 Can provide laboratory equipment for a day’s research into the causes, symptoms, management or treatment of TSC

Paul, whose Godson has TSC, gives £10 to the TSA each month:

“It’s so straightforward. £10 is gifted from my bank account just after I’ve been paid. I don’t notice it. Without any effort I am giving a significant amount to a charity which really matters to me.”

How we spend donations

The work that we do completely depends on us receiving donations. With no government funding, we operate purely on the generosity of individuals, families and other groups.

We are committed to being open and honest about how we use the vital funds that we kindly receive. We believe that by being open, people can have greater assurances that their money is being spent well.

For every £1 that we receive…

84p is used to directly improve the lives of people affected by TSC

16p is used to stimulate further income for the TSA
