The TSA is delighted to confirm that Luke Langlands (former Head of Communications and Support) and Dr Pooja Takhar (former Head of Research and Policy) have been confirmed as the new Joint Chief Executives of the Tuberous Sclerosis Association.

Pooja and Luke start their new roles with many years of experience at the TSA. The TSA will now be led by a partnership that boasts a wide range of abilities, with the pair having varied backgrounds across support, information, research and policy, bound by deep-rooted knowledge of the TSA and TSC.

Many people in the TSC community will already be very familiar with our new Chief Executives, with Luke a regular host during TSA virtual events and Pooja a vital stakeholder in pushing the TSC research agenda forward.

“As your Joint Chief Executives, we can promise you every effort in achieving major milestones across support, research, fundraising and advocacy for the TSA and the TSC community” commented Pooja. “Luke and I are confident that the expertise that we bring to our new roles can help to push the charity into an exciting new period of success.”

On the announcement, Luke said: “We want to return to the feelings of community and togetherness that the TSA is so loved for, while continuing to advance the charity in innovative ways. The hard work has started right away, with ambitious plans already being put in place across all teams. If we’re to be successful, we need the TSC community to join us on this journey, as we ensure that the TSA is a successful, confident and robust charity.”

The TSA is looking forward to a prolonged period of growth and calm under the pair’s leadership. Pooja and Luke have shown their intentions and aspirations for the TSA right away, with a period of recruitment for a number of key team positions to now take place. In the meantime, the small TSA team continues to be here for everyone affected by TSC, across support, information, fundraising, research and advocacy.

Luke and Pooja are both keen for the TSA to be an open door to the TSC community and beyond. If you have any questions or comments for the new Chief Executives, or if you just want to say ‘Hello’, get in contact with either Pooja or Luke.

With this announcement, former Chief Executive John Shepherd leaves his post. Although John was with us for only a very short time, our sincere thanks and best wishes go to John for all of his work as Chief Executive.
