The TSA are delighted to announce new members of staff joining the TSA, and bringing with them a wealth of experience that can only help us to better support the TSC community. Here’s a run down of the new faces of the TSA.

 

HEADS OF DEPARTMENT:

Alison Cooper, Head of Research Alison comes to the TSA with an excellent track record in research management. The majority of her career has been spent in the NHS in Leicestershire and Hampshire; where she has been a Research Manager within primary care trusts, community health services and the acute sector. She has also worked as a researcher within academic primary care. Alison originally trained as a social scientist with a degree in Sociology & Social Research. She also has a Masters a degree in Public Health.

 

Alison is based in North Hampshire, where she lives with her husband and two school age children.

TSA ADVISORS:

Kendra Rhodehouse, TSA Advisor for Midlands, Suffolk and Hereford

Kendra has 13 years experience in a role very similar to that of our own Advisers – supporting people with Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS)
– a genetic condition leading to learning disabilities, health complications and complex needs.  Kendra also has experience
of developing, delivering and evaluating accredited PWS awareness training programmes.

“I am thrilled to be joining the TSA Team. I live in Nottingham with my husband and 2 little girls and am looking forward to using my experience to provide a good, quality service to members of TSA”

Christine Beal, TSA Advisor for Yorkshire, Cumbria, Durham and Northumberland

Christine is a registered social worker and teacher who began her social work career in a busy general hospital.  She has experience
of supporting and devising care plans for adults and children with visual impairment and complex health conditions and of delivering
awareness training to schools, hospitals and care homes. She has also worked as an Independent Living Fund Assessor and as an Advocate
for Age UK.

“I am already enjoying being part of the support team at the TSA. I live in a small village just outside Huddersfield and am looking forward to supporting families in my region living with TSC”
